‘Spring Into Shelter’ Adoption Event Kicks off April 20, 2016

Glen-A31318692(2)Spring has officially arrived in East Tennessee, and Young-Williams Animal Center is reducing adoption rates to help ‘spring’ animals out of the shelter.

Beginning April 20 through Sunday, April 24, adoption fees for adult and senior pets will be reduced to $50 and $25, respectively.

“Our adoption numbers have dropped in April, and we’re offering this special to get our animals out of the shelter and into forever homes,” Jeff Ashin, Young-Williams Animal Center CEO, said. “This is a great time to adopt a pet, and we hope community members will take advantage of this special offer.”

The special reduced rates will be available at both Young-Williams Animal Center at 3201 Division St., off Sutherland Avenue, and the Young-Williams Animal Village at 6400 Kingston Pike on Bearden Hill.

Every adopted animal will receive the services covered by the regular adoption fees, which include a veterinary physical exam, spay/neuter surgery, some standard vaccinations, a microchip with registration and more.

Young-Williams also has seen an increase in intake over the last few weeks and encourages the community to spay and neuter their pets.

“It’s the most efficient and humane way to save lives and control the pet overpopulation in the community,” Ashin said. “We offer a low-cost clinic at the Young-Williams Animal Village on Bearden Hill where dogs are fixed for $70 and cats for $45.”
