YWAC Events: June 2011

June  2011

Adopt-A-Cat Month
When: Wednesday, June 1 to Thursday, June 30,
Where: As summer approaches, animal shelters across the country brace for the inevitable onslaught of homeless spring kittens and cats looking for good homes. In fact, June is one of the busiest months for animal shelters. So it’s no accident that June is American Humane’s Adopt-A-Cat Month. This annual tradition promotes cat adoptions from shelters and provides an opportunity to teach the public how to care for their pets responsibly. For more information, please visit Adopt-A-Cat Month – American Humane.

Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month
When: Wednesday, June 1 to Thursday, June 30,
Where: The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is celebrating June as Adopt A Shelter Cat Month to educate people about the wonderful cats and kittens available for adoption at shelters. Adopt A Shelter Cat Month is also a time when the ASPCA encourages responsible pet ownership. In addition to providing adequate food, shelter and water, being a responsible pet owner also involves learning about cats and having realistic expectations for your new companion. For more information, please visit American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or call 212-876-7700. The Animal Center will offer adoption specials to celebrate!
