Young-Williams Animal Center kicks off 14th annual Mardi Growl with T-shirt design contest

Young-Williams Animal Center’s 14th annual Mardi Growl celebration has started with the kickoff of the T-shirt design contest. Original artwork can be submitted now through Feb. 14.

In addition to a T-shirt, the winning artwork will be featured on masks, bandanas, posters and other fun merchandise for the first time. Submissions must include a high-resolution image of the original art, along with the participant’s name, email and phone number; a short bio is optional. Email artwork submissions to [email protected].

Due to the ongoing pandemic, Young-Williams Animal Center has postponed the in-person Mardi Growl party in 2021 from March 6 to this summer.

In the meantime, the shelter will hold a variety of virtual, Mardi Gras-themed activities. Details are available at www.mardigrowl.org.

“Young-Williams Animal Center is excited to begin celebrating this beloved annual event with our community, even if it looks a little different than usual,” says Janet Testerman, CEO of Young-Williams Animal Center. “We are planning lots of online fun in March to tide you over while we work hard to plan a safe event later this year. Whether you’re a sponsor, vendor, participant or furry contestant, we thank you for your support.”

Mardi Growl is the shelter’s largest fundraiser thanks to the support of event sponsors and the community’s pet lovers. For more information on becoming a sponsor, email [email protected] or call 865-215-6599.
