S.A.V.E.S. Fund

Young-Williams Animal Center is the official animal shelter for Knox County and the city of Knoxville. The center is a non-profit organization that turns no animal away and is dedicated to the sheltering and placement of animals, general animal welfare, and public education of companion animal issues.

Because our funding is tax based, we are unable to provide extensive, rehabilitative care to animals that would otherwise be adoptable.
To address this need, YWAC has established a fund called SAVES (Shelter Animal Veterinary Emergency Services). This special account is funded by private donations which are used to treat sick or injured adoptable animals that come into our shelter. This fund essentially allows us to “go the extra mile”.
The attached video explains how the fund is used and highlights animals that have been treated because of these funds.
All of the animals in this video have been adopted into loving homes after receiving treatment by our medical staff.
Donations to the SAVES Fund helps us treat more adoptable animals, which might otherwise by euthanized.
