Governor Bill Haslam Proclaims Tennessee Week for the Animals September 17-25, 2016!

(Nashville, TN) Animal World USA is pleased to announce that Tennessee Week for the Animals, governor-proclaimed week long, community-strengthening celebration, kicks off September 17-25, 2016. Educational institutions, animal shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations will be hosting scores of life-saving animal events in locations across the state. Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens across Tennessee will be joining in, creating and planning exciting activities to celebrate and help animals.

 

Events will include scores of adoption events/fairs, spay/neuter awareness events, support your local animal shelter days, shelter dog reunion, Dog Day Festival in Nashville, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, horse & farm animals activities, veggie meetups, blessing of the animals and therapy dogs visiting hospitals and living assisted homes. Young Williams Animal Center is holding adoptions and low cost spay/neuter ops, The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine staff and students participate each year to really add to the excitement! A daily spotlight on The Elephant Sanctuary, a salute to our search & rescue & working K-9’s, pet photos to help shelter pets, educational programs at sanctuaries, and fun-filled festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the always amazing animals!
