Young-Williams Animal Center has an important partner –  Friends of the Young-Williams Animal Center!  Friends of YWAC was established as an independent entity whose purpose is to raise funds to support the animal adoption efforts and spay/neuter programs of both the Center on Sutherland Ave. as well as the Village on Bearden Hill.

It is only through private donations that our animal centers can provide the valuable service of animal adoptions. The outpouring of support from our community is exemplary.  Our residents can be extremely proud of themselves. Stray, abandoned, mistreated and lost animals are assured loving, compassionate and competent care thanks to the generosity of thousands of donors. The coins and dollars dropped into donor boxes, checks sent in response to our mailers, the Furry Friends (a $75 gift), and the schoolchildren whose lemonade stands, birthday party gifts and allowances are brought into the center all add up and allow us to continue our mission. Each donation is deeply appreciated and stretched to its maximum value. Sometimes our tasks can feel overwhelming ~ but knowing how much our community supports us keeps us positive and moving in the right direction. Thank you for being a compassionate community that deeply cares for its animals.

Every adoptable animal deserves an opportunity to find a forever home.  Through the efforts of the Center’s spay/neuter programs, YWAC is addressing the problem of pet overpopulation in our community. There is no better way to accomplish these goals than by becoming a Friend to a dog or cat or rabbit, or any of the thousands of animals that are taken to the Center every year.
