Shelter Behavior Seminar

Join us as we welcome Shelter Behavior Specialist Kelley Bollen, MS, CABC to Knoxville to speak to those in the field of animal welfare. Some of the topics covered will be dog and cat body language, stress recognition and reduction and safe handling, behavioral and environmental enrichment, how animals learn, behavior evaluations, and so much more!

This seminar is completely FREE to anyone in the animal welfare field thanks to a generous grant from a private donor! You can REGISTER HERE through September 21.

The seminar will take place October 1-2 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church on Kingston Pike.

10:45-12:15 – Reading Dog and Cat Body Language and Safe Handling

12:15-1:15 – Lunch

1:15-3:15 – Stress Recognition and Reduction for Dogs and Cats

3:15-3:30 – Afternoon break

3:30-5:00 – Enrichment for Cats and Dogs

 

Day 2

9:00-11:00 – Understanding Aggressive Behavior in the Domestic Dog

11:15-12:15 – Canine Behavior Evaluations in the Shelter

12:15-12:45 – Feline Behavior Evaluations in the Shelter

1:45-2:45 – How Animal Learn and the Basics of Behavior Modification
