This large dog house seeks to bridge the gap between traditional indoor dog houses and functionality for both the pet and the parent. With a classis Mid-Century Modern look and feel, this piece of furniture & house” will modestly blend in with it’s surrounding environment without compromising space, function or style.  As a homage to one of MHM’s founding fathers, Bruce McCarty, MidMod Mutt pays a special tribute to his love and admiration for Mid-Century Modern architecture.

Camp Bow Wow by Studio Fur & DeBark

Recall the nostalgia of camping in the backyard on a warm summer night. Camp Bow Wow combines our love of the outdoors with a childhood sense of adventure. This project gives large dogs a variety of experiences so they may entertain themselves for hours on end. They can choose to snooze on the pooch porch or the husky hammock. If the weather turns, they can tuck in to the ‘tent’. If you’ve got a lab that likes to lord over the land, tether them to the tent tie down and let them roam the radius of your choosing. Give your dog the same experience  you had as a kid on summer vacation when there were a million-and-one things to do. This project was brought together via a mix of found and donated materials, reimagined into a puppy play palace. A true design-build in nature, Studio Fur and DeBark pooled our talents and resources together to outfit this house as a modern, welcoming canine cabin. Rest assured your dog is enjoying the outdoors
just as much as any kid on the block, in the comfort of a fully-loaded, bespoke dog house!

K9 Comfort by BLS Thompson & Litton

K9 Comfort is a very green dog house made entirely of recycled materials! The structure is made entirely from reclaimed pallet wood. The roof was covered by recycled waterproof envelopes to make a Tyvek-like weather protection layer and then tiled with laminate samples from the design team’s office. The interior is covered in carpet samples and the bars in the window are made from job site PVC leftovers.

All funds raised during the online auction help lost, scared and vulnerable pets in Knoxville find loving homes though Young-Williams Animal Center. We can’t thank our participating builders enough for donating their time and talent to create these amazing pet homes. Together, we’re working towards our vision of A Home For Every Pet.
