Employee Spotlight-Jenifer!

It is an honor to introduce our next employee, YWAC Volunteer Coordinator, Jenifer. She’s not only a personal and close friend, she’s also one of the hardest working, honest, empathetic, fair and intelligent employees in the organization!

1.When was the last time you received a speeding ticket?

College 🙂

2.What’s your favorite cheat meal?

Laotian cuisine at Sticky Rice Cafe! It’s only cheating because I eat way too much.

3.Your dream vacation destination?

Iceland.

4.What do you like to do for fun?

Shop for records and hike with my hubby and dogs.

5.Where’s your favorite place to shop?

Thrift stores.

6.Why did you chose to adopt rather than buy your first dog?

I wanted to help a creature that needed help.

7. What made you apply for work at Young-Williams Animal Center?

I wanted to dedicate my life’s work to helping animals every single day. I still wouldn’t have it any other way.

8.The best part about your job?

Watching animals make progress and learn how to cope even though they’re in a stressful situation with people that they’re unfamiliar with. It’s amazing how resilient they are, and how open they are to new people who are trying to communicate with them and help them. It’s magical when you win over an animal’s trust.

9.Favorite memory on the job?

Convincing two parents that the best dog we had for their kids was a Pit Bull, named Sarah. They were hesitant to even take her out for a visit but ended up adopting. I got updates months later saying that they couldn’t imagine life without her.

10.What are your career goals?

I’ll do whatever I can do with the skills I have to most effectively help homeless pets!
