Community Support Needed to Win $100,000 Grand Prize and Save More Lives!

Thanks to over 12,000 animal lovers who  took time to  vote, Young-Williams Animal Center won a spot  in  the 2012 ASPCA  Rachael Ray  $100K Challenge and will now compete for a chance at more than $500,000 in grant funding, including a grand prize of $100,000!

The 2012 ASPCA  Rachael Ray  $100K Challenge is a nationwide competition for animal shelters (and their communities) aimed at getting more animals adopted or returned to their owners than ever before.

From August 1 to October 31, 2012, Young-Williams Animal Center will compete to find new homes for more cats and dogs, and increase our Return to Owner rate than during the same period in 2011. Competing against 49 other shelters, the baseline goal is to save at least 300 more animals.

Young-Williams Animal Center’s Goal is to save 1512 Lives!

“The ASPCA Rachel Ray $100K Challenge is a great motivator for our staff, the residents of East Tennessee and local businesses to get involved! Everyone’s pitching in to connect thousands of beautiful, fun-loving, homeless dogs and cats in our shelter with the right families, ” said Amy Johnston, Director of Outreach at YWAC. “Working together, not only will we save more lives, we will have a shot at the $100,000 grant which would help us expand our spay/neuter program, enhance our adoption and foster programs and strengthen the safety net for our community’s neediest pet-owners by expanding our pet-food pantry”.

Young-Williams Animal Center already has many on-site and off-site events and adoption promotions planned during the months of August, September and October!
