SUMMARY:2023 Pet Calendar Contest
DESCRIPTION:We are no longer accepting pre-orders for the 2023 Young-Williams Animal Center Pet Calendar. \nPlease keep an eye on social media for when calendars will be available for purchase in the lobby of our Division Street location. \n\nThe Young-Williams Animal Center calendar contest helps provide care for the nearly 10\,000 homeless\, stray\, and unwanted pets we take in every year. The official Young-Williams Animal Center 2023 Wall Calendar is sponsored by Mortgage Investors Group. \n All proceeds support the mission of Young-Williams Animal Center to lead the community to end pet homelessness\, promote animal welfare\, and enhance the human-animal bond. \nFundraisers like our 2023 Pet Calendar Contest are so important to our mission and helps animals in our care right now. Animals like Coda the puppy. Coda was rushed to UT Vet Hospital after being attacked by a wild animal and was stabilized before being transferred to Young-Williams for care. His small front leg was broken in multiple places but the injury didn’t stop him from snuggling up to our vet staff. At such a young age\, we knew amputation was not only the best medical path\, but that he would easily learn how to walk on three legs. Thanks to the Animal Compassion Fund\, he got the emergency vet care he needed and is now in a new home dedicated to keeping him safe and loved. Your entries and votes help provide for Coda and hundreds of pets just like him. \n\nSPONSORED BY

SUMMARY:Kitten Yoga with Mary June
DESCRIPTION:Our much anticipated kitten yoga series is back and better than ever! This year\, you have four chances to stretch it out with our most adorable residents: Our Kittens! For our first of four classes\, we’ll be at Breezeway Yoga Studio with instructor Mary June Thompson. This one hour yoga class will leave you with the glow of a good workout and a warm\, fuzzy feeling knowing you made a difference for vulnerable pets. \nRegistration is $25 and 100% of proceeds benefit the pets at Young-Williams Animal Center. Want to share a little extra love with our kittens? Send a care package or bring an item from our kitten shower wish list. \n\n \nMeet Mary June Thompson\, RYT 500\n \nMary June is a dedicated long-time practitioner who believes in the ability of yoga to align body\, mind\, and spirit; relieve stress; and improve overall health and quality of life at any age. She loves teaching yoga to help others receive these benefits. Mary June has completed both 200-hour and 300-hour Advanced yoga trainings\, as well as additional certifications in multiple yoga disciplines. Off the mat\, she is also a chef\, herbalist\, avid gardener\, and holistic health expert who enjoys spending time with her husband and fur babies and soaking up the sun on a beach whenever possible. \nMary June currently leads Mindful Noon Flow classes at Breezeway:\nMindful Noon Flow – Noon on Monday and Wednesday — This class uses the linkage of movement with breath to create a mindful full body yoga experience. Each class centers on a specific theme to help practitioners find that mind-body connection and cultivate focus during the practice. Examples of themes explored in class include more mentally challenging practices\, such as balance; to more physical practices such as working with poses for maintaining a healthy back or building upper body strength; to energetics\, such as working with chakras. There is lots of variety in this class and something for everyone as we focus on cultivating and maintaining the health of our minds\, bodies\, and spirits. Some yoga experience is helpful but not required. Learn more here.  \n  \nCan’t get enough kittens? Register for the next kitten yoga class too and you’ll really be feline good!
